Are you looking to get into ketosis quickly? Are you looking for a diet plan for weight loss that will help you reach your goals efficiently? We understand how hectic the process can be but it is important to get into ketosis efficiently. So we have put together some details to help you understand how keto foods affect your body.

Understanding ketosis

First, it is important to understand what ketosis is and how it works. Ketosis is a metabolic state in which your body burns fat for energy instead of carbohydrates. This happens when your body is starved of carbohydrates and the liver converts stored fat into ketone bodies. The ketone bodies then become the main fuel source for the body, allowing it to burn fat instead of carbohydrates.

How does it work?

In order to get into ketosis, you need to restrict your carbohydrate intake. This means reducing your daily carbohydrate intake to between 20-50 grams of carbohydrates per day. You can do this by eating a low-carbohydrate keto diet, which involves eating high-fat foods like meat, eggs, cheese, and nuts. It is also important to increase your dietary fat intake to make sure that you are getting enough fat for your body to convert into ketone bodies.

How long does it take?

Once you have reduced your carbohydrate intake and increased your dietary fat intake, it can take anywhere from several days to a few weeks to get into ketosis. Fasting can aggravate the process and push the body to get into the state within 72 hours.

It can vary from person to person based on their lifestyle, eating habits, age, etc. Your body needs to get rid of all the glycogen first to produce more ketones.

It is essential to be patient and to continue to follow your low-carbohydrate keto diet as you transition into ketosis. Once you do, you may start noticing symptoms such as constipation and bad breath to name a few. And if you want to be sure, you could go for a ketone-level test. These tests will measure the number of ketones present in your blood or urine.

The bottom line

If you follow a diet plan for weight loss and workouts guided by a professional, you will be able to get into ketosis sooner. We also offer a range of keto-friendly meals, snacks, and desserts, all of which have balanced micronutrients, low in carbs and high in healthy fats.
